We all grow up with dreams throughout our childhood. For example, sometime or another we have all often wondered what it would be like to become invisible or to fly. Just as in our dreams, fantasy novels are set in a fictional universe where everything is possible and far from the real world.
In my first novel Anto, Curse of the Hidden City, (the fantasy world where the Anthidden live), and Hiddenton a regular town that portrays the real world (where the humans live), blend together, giving the reader an alternative experience and changing the dimension of the story. We also see this in many young adult fantasy novels such as the Harry Potter books when Harry visits the Dursleys and Twilight, which takes place in the ordinary world with which we are familiar... but with vampires.
